About Rhoads

"Lodi's Road to a Brighter Future"

Spencer Rhoads was born and raised in Lodi, California.

After graduating from Lodi High in 2009, Rhoads attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton where he obtained his Associates Degree with honors. Rhoads later enrolled at California State University Sacramento but never left Lodi. He worked at the Lodi Beer Company to put himself through school, and during his time at CSU Sacramento he became active in political organizations on campus, served as a student mentor for the university’s Government Department, and interned in the State Legislature.

Spencer graduated Cum Laude from CSU Sacramento with a Bachelors Degree in Government and began working in the State Assembly. Spencer has served as a Legislative Aide for two California State Assembly Members, including an Assembly Minority Leader. He analyzed and advanced state policies pertaining to public safety, health, and technology. He now works as an analyst for a government consulting firm.

Rhoads is a musician, and over the course of his 14 year music career, he has volunteered and played the drums for many churches in Lodi. He is currently volunteering for a mobile church that is geared towards young adults and young families in Lodi.

Rhoads believes he can bring a new perspective to the City Council while remaining true to the city's roots. Having grown up and worked for family-owned businesses in the city, Spencer understands the needs of Lodi’s working class and the struggles of our disappearing mom-and-pop shops and small businesses. With experience working for the State Legislature, Rhoads has crafted state law, and understands the trickle-down effect of state policies on local governments. As a city council member, he will work to keep Lodi safe and affordable, and be an advocate for small businesses and every-day residents.

Spencer is happily married and is the proud father of two.
